Ávila launches “ecological” Christmas lighting

  394 decorated trees, 46 lampposts and 208 arches of light. It is the Christmas lighting that the Ávila City Council has prepared for this year, with the particularity that they are “low consumption light bulbs”.

  The Christmas parties have a budget of 125,000 euros and this novelty is joined by others that can also be seen these days, such as the craft fair in which about 25 artisans who will arrive in Ávila with Christmas products and manufacturing tradition will participate.

  This fair, which will have a tent, will also host numerous activities aimed at the smallest of the house: balloon twisting workshops, karaoke, makeup, etc., from 12 to 14 and from 17 to 20 hours.

  The lighting and activities will also reach the annexed neighborhoods of the capital, while some appointments already fixed on the calendar will take place in the San Francisco Municipal Auditorium.

  It will be the case of the delivery of the Polyphonic Composition, Painting and Sculpture, Human Rights and Solidarity prizes and the Young Awards, convened by the Ávila City Council, which will be delivered on December 27.

  Also in San Francisco will be held the Ávila en Corto contest, of short films from Avila, which will take place on January 3 and 4, as well as the Christmas Carols Contest (December 20), children’s theater, storytelling … without forgetting the Three Kings Day Concert, on December 6, by the Ávila Music Band.

  Another stage, the municipal sports center of San Antonio, will host the already traditional activities of Diverábula, between December 28 and 30, while the main streets of the city will serve as a route to the Three Kings Parade on January 5.
