The City Council of Ávila will continue with the experimental program of free bicycle management & nbsp; ‘Ávila lends you the bike’ , which this year will take place between June and November, as announced by the Deputy Mayor of Environment, Alberto Plaza, in his opinion & nbsp; “because the figures are good although foreseeably improvable “. In this sense, as he pointed out, since its launch, a total of 786 free bicycle loans have been made in the three authorized points of the capital: the El Seminario sports center, the Río Chico recreational area and the Visitor Reception Center. The City Council has not decided the period in which ‘Ávila lends you the bike’ will take place, although Plaza pointed out that it will probably take place in the summer months. As for the European Car-Free Day, which is celebrated on September 22, the City Council has organized a Cycle March, which will depart at 11.00 am from the free bike loan point in the recreational area of Río Chico to circulate through the South zone to El Soto, where sandwiches and soft drinks will be distributed and children’s activities will be developed. According to the Councilor for the Environment, Concha Martín, the program designed for the occasion is “similar” to that of the previous year. Among the initiatives planned for September 22 is a reduction in the price of the bus ticket, which will amount to 20 cents.
