RTVE promotes tourism in Ávila with a documentary series.

Within the framework of the celebration of the V Centenary of the birth of Santa Teresa in Ávila, RTVE has signed a collaboration agreement to produce and broadcast the documentary series “The Lord is also among the pots” , about the life, personality and work of Teresa de Jesús, with special attention to the gastronomic offer . The president of Paradores, the mayor of Ávila, the mayor of Alcalá de Henares and the Deputy Mayor of Toledo, Salamanca, Segovia and Caravaca de la Cruz have accompanied the president of RTVE in the signing.

The series will consist of seven thirty-minute chapters and will be made from the archive material of the RTVE Documentary Fund and new images recorded in the different convents of Carmel and the Teresian cities of Spain. It will premiere on TVE and RTVE Digital (www.rtve.es) throughout 2015.

The president of RTVE, José Antonio Sánchez, stressed that “this series, of its own production, could not have been a reality without the help and collaboration of Paradores and the town councils of the towns that make up the route. ‘ Traces of Teresa ‘ ”.

 An agreement that aims to publicize the architectural, literary, spiritual and gastronomic legacy, as well as the tourist potential of the towns that make up the ‘Huellas de Teresa’ pilgrimage routes in Spain , which runs through those cities where Teresa de Jesús founded convents: Ávila, Medina del Campo, Malagón, Valladolid, Toledo, Pastrana, Salamanca, Alba de Tormes, Segovia, Beas de Segura, Seville, Caravaca de la Cruz, Villanueva de la Jara, Palencia, Soria, Granada and Burgos.

  In addition, Alcalá de Henares joins the gastronomic series, due to its special connection with Santa Teresa and Paradores de España. TVE is preparing a special program on the occasion of the V Centenary, such as the documentary ‘Teresa de Jesús, a life of mystical experience’, presented in Ávila last week.
